Newborn baby named after lay-by

A mother named her newborn baby after the lay-by in which he was born in a car as she raced to the hospital.

Kate Flello's son Toby Westbury Sterry was born one month early in the lay-by on the A48 in Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire.

Miss Flello, 32, and her partner Brian Sterry, 35, were racing to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital but had to pull over to dial 999 for an ambulance to meet them at the lay-by.

But Toby would not wait and Mr Sterry was forced to act as midwife and deliver his son at the roadside just as a paramedic arrived.
